bcb was present at the 5th edition of the World Manufacturing Forum (WMF), held in Monterrey (Mexico), with more than 450 assistant companies from about 40 different countries.

In this global event of Advanced Manufacturing the theme has been the digital transformation, being the star 3D metal printing aimed at automotive and aeronautics.

Experts in global politics and industry leaders, from large multinationals to small and medium enterprises, and academic leaders have discussed the political, economic, social and technical challenges that influence global manufacturing.

The Chamber of the Transformation Industry of Nuevo Leon (CAINTRA), has prioritized the development of Industry 4.0 following global trends.

In the WMF have included visits to plants of global companies located in Monterrey as NemakFrisaSisamexMetalsa and Kia México.

In the framework of the WMF, the Second Technological Mission of the Automotive Sector was organized by ELAN Network Mexico, program of the European Commission coordinated in the country by ProMéxico, whose objective is to support European and Mexican companies to formalize technological cooperation alliances in the automotive, advanced manufacturing and auto parts sectors.

The ELAN Network workshop for the automotive sector was attended by 6 European companies (bcb one of them), 25 Mexican companies and 10 institutions supporting the sector. ProMéxico explained the objectives of the ELAN Network program, its scope and results obtained to date. In addition, the importance of collaboration between companies, academia and government to specify high value-added projects in advanced manufacturing was highlighted.

During the event, the Automotive Cluster of Nuevo León (CLAUT), the Center for Industrial Engineering and Development (CIDESI), the ICT Cluster of Nuevo León (Csoftmty) and the Tecnológico de Monterrey.
