bcb has participated in Mexico City, in the sessions of health, space and ICT organized by CONACYT and the European Commission, within the H2020 program explaining its innovative solutions in this field.
Among the outstanding projects that bcb spied was CLOCK WORK(Smart System for the Management and Control of Shift Workers Circadian Rhythms). European project AAL-0100000-2014-6, co-financed by the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism, in which BCB Informática and Control participates with the Fraunhofer in Porto.
Some of the Spanish institutions that have participate are Fundación Española para la Ciencia y la Tecnología (FECYT), Madri+D, Insatituto nacional de Técnica Aeroespacial (INTA) or Centro Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC).
Coordinated by the National Council of Science and Technology (CONACYT), on 8th and 9th March, held in Mexico City the “EU-MEX Cooperation Days”, which were attended by 150 players in science sector technology and innovation (CTI), from Europe and Mexico to strengthen scientific cooperation ties between the two regions, and where was present bcb.
The “EU-MEX Cooperation Days” are organized in the framework of the EU-MEX INNOVA, bilateral initiative funded by the European Commission (FP7 INCO) with the aim of strengthening the Euro-Mexican coopertion in research, scientific development and innovation.
Mexico is making tremendous efforts to advance in science, technology and innovation as a National Innovation Agenda has been presented by the several Mexican public and private institutions to the new goverment, the objective is to fully unite the country`s policies relating to investment in innovation, incentives, training research, development and vigorously promote the linkage to the business sector.
Successful cases of cooperation between Europe and Mexico, among which highlighted “MAGIC”, “leadership”, Medincell and Innovare”, “Latoxan” and “Bioclon” were presented. In addition, there were six parallel sessions focusing on topics such as:
– Food security (Innovation for sustainableand competitive agriculture, sustainability, biotechnology, nanotechnology and production applied for food security).
– Renewable energy (Innovative solutions to Energy efficiency and marine energy).
– Health (Innovation in the healthcare biotechnology sector).
– Information and communication technologies (Smart cities and social innovations based on ICTs, future internet and Big Data:Main technologic challenges, data driven innovation).
– Environment (climate services, prediction of natural disasters, ecosystems, agricultural and marinebiodiversity, eco-innovative approaches to the circular economy).
– Space.
In a business meeting forum that featured more than 100 bilateral meetings to encourage the creation of partnerships that offer research proposals it was also presented; policy makers and investors.
During 6 parallel sessions, different research actors from EU and Mexico learned about H2020 calls in the respective areas of interest, they learned abot the state of the art of several research proposals; where bcb explained his Baby Beat project..
The European Union – Mexico Bilateral Innovation Initiative (EU-MEX INNOVA), seeks to develop and strengthen collaborations between the two sides to cope societal challenges and industrial technologies through international cooperation, for instance in the areas of climate change, food security, sustainable development, clean energy, health and transport; by making science, research and innovation proceed more rapidly and more cost effectively. Our societies can become more prosperous and inclusive by enhancing the transfer of Knowledge to society through the development of innovation.
In this sense, the connection is a decisive boost technology transfer and knowledge created in HEIs, laboratories and research centers to enterprises with emphasis on SMEs.
