bcb conducts tests with pregnant women for its Baby Beat project

Últimas noticias

In the first weeks of July, bcb made the first measurements for its Baby Beat project with pregnant women.

Baby Beat consists of the measurement of the fetal heartbeat with an integrated non-invasive technology device, carried out in advanced stages of pregnancy. The portable device can communicate with Smartphones via Bluetooth connection and cause automatic alerts when the heartbeat exceeds certain thresholds (below 100 bpm or above 180).

These measurements were carried out in the Research Unit of the La Alamedilla Health Center located in the city of Salamanca, in conjunction with the Carlos III University of Madrid (UC3M); In this session we worked with a group of 19 pregnant women and 5 non-pregnant women, carrying out laser interferometry, tonometry and ultrasound measurements.

Thanks to this project, bcb received the INNOVATIVE SME seal from the General Directorate of Innovation and Competitiveness of the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness (MINECO).
