bcb was present at Q-Expo 2026, one of the most important European gatherings on quantum technologies, held in Bilbao and organized by the European Quantum Industry Consortium (QuIC) together with the Provincial Council of Bizkaia. The event brought together technology leaders, public institutions, research centers, large corporations, and innovative companies from across Europe to analyze the present and future of quantum computing, quantum cryptography, and, especially, quantum sensors applied to industrial environments.
During this edition, bcb actively participated in specialized forums and played a leading role in the recently created Spanish Quantum Association(SQuA), an initiative aimed at promoting the development of the Spanish quantum ecosystem. Presence in this strategic space allowed bcb to strengthen relationships with institutions such as the Ministry for Digital Transformation and Public Administration, Red.es, CSIC, and TECNALIA, as well as with leading technology companies and industrial users who are spearheading the digital transformation based on quantum technologies.
For bcb, one of the major areas of interest at Q-Expo 2026 was the evolution of quantum sensing, a technology with enormous potential to meet the most demanding needs of sectors such as steel, metallurgy, mining, oil & gas, energy, and food.
Our technological vision focuses on integrating these new capabilities through advanced sensor fusion, combining quantum sensors with thermal monitoring systems and high-precision thermographic cameras from our technology partner, FLIR Systems. This convergence will enable the development of smarter, more precise, and predictive solutions for monitoring critical industrial processes.
