bcb recently participated in the Fusion Europe meets IFMIF-DONES event, held in the city of Granada. This meeting brought together more than 60 European companies interested in learning about the technological and industrial opportunities associated with the development of one of the key infrastructures for the advancement of fusion energy in Europe.
IFMIF-DONES is a strategic project within the Big Science ecosystem that will allow research into the behavior of materials that will be used in future fusion reactors, contributing to the development of long-term sustainable energy technologies.
During the event, our CEO had the opportunity to exchange ideas with various industry representatives and gain firsthand knowledge of the technological challenges associated with this scientific infrastructure. In this context, bcb highlighted the potential of infrared thermography-based solutions to contribute to the thermal monitoring and control of critical processes and facilities, through the use of advanced cameras from its technology partner, FLIR.
The event, organized by Fusion Europe, brought together companies, technology centers, and organizations from various European countries interested in collaborating on the development of IFMIF-DONES. The high level of participation and the large number of B2B meetings held reflected the growing industry interest in fusion energy and the opportunities this scientific infrastructure will generate.
Additionally, the IFMIF-DONES facilities, located 20 km from the city, were visited, where the following demonstrators were observed:
•LITEC (Lithium Technologies CIEMAT): Validation of the Impurity Control System.
•MuVavAS (Multipurpose Vacuum Accident Scenario): Experimental Setup
•UMM-PROTO (Start Up Monitoring Module-Prototype)
bcb also expresses its gratitude for the excellent organization of the event by INEUSTAR and its representatives, with whom the company has recently begun collaborating within the Spanish scientific industry ecosystem.
Participation in these types of events reinforces bcb’s commitment to Big Science projects and the development of advanced thermal monitoring technologies applied to large scientific infrastructures.
