bcb performs the implementation of HCS in Luneng Haixi

At the beginning of July, bcb began the commissioning of the Heliostat Calibration System (HCS) for theLuneng Haixi Concentrated Solar Power Plant located on the Tibet Plateau (Golmud, China) and erected by SEPCOIII Shandong Electric Power Construction Corp.

The plant is almost 3000 meters high, with 4400 heliostats with a size of 120 m2, using molten salt storage and a 50 MW turbine from Siemens.

bcb is possibly the company with the most experience in the calibration of 120 m2 heliostats worldwide, due to our work on PS-10 and 20, Eureka, CRS-1 and 2, Gemasolar, Tonopah and Khi during the last 10 years (and now Luneng).

In Luneng, we have used 12 visible HR cameras from Teledyne FLIR Systems. We analyze in real time the images of the projection of the heliostat on the axis of the tower (objective), calculating the displacement errors (in azimuth and elevation) to improve the movement of the heliostats that follow the sun and point to the receiver.

Luneng Haixi 50 MW molten salt tower CSP project is expected to be operational in one month by the end of August.
