On November 16, the official inauguration by the State Governor of the first Photonics Cluster of Mexico (CMF) will take place in the city of Santiago de Querétaro.
CMF plans to become the optical and photonic capital of Mexico and Latin America.
The objective is to develop a competitive ecosystem for the optics and photonics sector, to make Mexico the Latin American leader in innovation, R & D and manufacturing for this growing global industry. The establishment of a Mexican Photonics Cluster is perhaps the key to the success of the ecosystem pursued.
Photonics is basic and fundamental in sectors such as automotive, aeronautics and aerospace, agri-food, energy and environment, telecommunications, chemical, health and pharmaceutical, rail or even in cosmetics and aesthetics.
The fruitful and convinced union of all the agents involved and especially between the Academy, both CONACYT centers and universities, and Industry, represented by large companies but also by SMEs, is essential for the new Cluster to be a success.
