The bcbMonitor 4.0 is fully adaptable to control lamination, drying processes, blanket formation, detection of surface defects, and application of adhesives and coatings. Likewise, the bcbFireScan guarantees the security of the facilities through the early detection of fires. The stability and precision of the measurement is obtained thanks to the use of FLIR thermal imaging cameras.
Applications
Documentation
In these processes, thermography can be used to verify in real time the correct execution of the process and that all the material is covered in a uniform way. It is also possible to detect upstream problems, as with the application of the fast Fourier transform from the thermographic reading.
- Moisture detection in blankets along the conveyor
- Moisture detection in paper roll formation
- Fast Fourier Transform Application for Upstream Troubleshooting
In the compaction of wood, an adequate temperature control is required, which by traditional methods is difficult to measure. With the bcbMonitor 4.0 a continuous, reliable and non-contact reading of the edge of the plate is integrated into a central processing, alarm and process control. And regarding the paper process, the bcbMonitor 4.0 allows evaluating the condition of the pulp after pressing to check that the moisture has been adequately and uniformly removed.
- Constant acquisition of the temperature parameter inside and on the edge of the board.
- Verification of humidity distribution at the exit of the press.
The bcbMonitor 4.0 system is capable of measuring the entire mat formation area, covering resolutions of the order of millimeters. Any anomaly is alerted or there is the possibility of regulating the process parameters based on the thermographic readings carried out by the system. With the bcbFireScan system, any natural or provoked rise in temperature can be detected, avoiding the ever-present risk of fire that this material has.
- Continuous and unattended monitoring of temperatures throughout the blanket of sawdust and glue.
- Prevent the combustible distance of the pharmacy in the blanket.
Processes defects can appear in the product due to poor adjustment or misadjustment of the machine. Detecting the defects is difficult and if they are not quite visible, such as burns, porosities and other discontinuities.
In addition, in these processes, friction always presents the risk of generating a spark and in an industry where materials are handled with the risk of easily igniting represents a danger. For the optimization of the process, it is recommended to use the thermographic monitoring offered by the bcbMonitor 4.0 and for the detection of fire outbreaks the bcbFireScan is available.
Continuous analysis of repeatability of temperatures in different boards.
Scanning for the detection of burns in melamine.
Detection of imperfections and roughness after sanding.
Thermography anticipates smoke detectors and CCTV systems by at least 2 minutes, allowing fire to be attacked at a stage where it can be extinguished very easily. The bcbFireScan system integrates FLIR cameras to serve that purpose. Its friendly interface coupled with connectivity with the plant’s alarm and extinguishing system make it a reliable and easy-to-operate monitoring tool. It also has detection of false positives in the face of reflections or forklift traffic.
