Thermography for inspection of heat treatments

The thermal treatments of metallic alloys are of great importance in today’s industry, since they allow the partial or total modification of the material’s characteristics through heating and cooling operations.

These procedures are very numerous and different techniques are used depending on the purpose to be achieved. One factor predominates among these procedures and techniques: temperature. To achieve the desired characteristics, maintaining correct temperature control is vital.

The bcbMonitor 4.0 is a system that allows autonomous, unattended and continuous monitoring of thermal variations, generating alarms in different formats that promptly report the incident at each point in the process. This allows us to have thermal control and ensure a correct transformation of the properties of the products.

Quench Rate

Calculation in real time from the reading at the exit of the furnace and the reading at the exit of the quenching.

Tempered

In the tempering process, either by air or by water, temperature control is maintained to achieve an austenitic, martensitic or bainitic structure, which gives the steel a high hardness.

Tempering and austenitizing furnaces

Although in tempering the materials reach their maximum hardness, they become brittle. That is why monitoring the tempering process is so important, in order to provide hardness to the materials.

Hot Stamping

The temperature control in hot stamping allows to achieve a special microstructure and final properties in the pieces.
