Innovation in Thermography: Exploring the Future of Batteries

Últimas noticias

Last Friday, at an event organized by Secpho and Alba Syncrotron, a prominent presentation was held in Barcelona on the innovative use of thermography in various stages of the battery value chain.

Javier Bezares del Cueto, CEO of bcb, shared insights on this topic, emphasizing the importance of thermography in areas such as research and development, design and engineering, manufacturing, laboratory testing, storage, transportation, and battery recycling.

Using cameras provided by their technological partner Teledyne FLIR, high-speed applications and gas detection such as CO, CO2, and hydrocarbons in the near and mid-wave infrared (SWIR/MWIR), as well as in the long-wave infrared (LWIR), were explored.

Alba Syncrotron’s facilities feature the highest unique technology in Spain, using electron accelerators to generate high-energy photons (synchrotron radiation), allowing for exceptional material characterization, including lithium batteries.

This event provided a platform to discuss the latest innovations in the field of thermography and its application in the battery sector, showcasing how collaboration between advanced technologies is driving progress in this critical field.
